This prototype is created for the online community project “Student Scholars Community”. It is designed to support students as content creators in research and scholarship. The theoretical framework of community of practice (Lave & Wenger, 1991) combined with the more recent work of digital habitat (Wenger, White, & Smith, 2009), provide a guide to building successful learning communities using educational technologies where students with different skills and knowledge can explore their potentials to be productive scholars.
